Surgical treatment of periodontitis

What is the surgical treatment

In cases where the goals of periodontal treatment have not been achieved with the conservative phase, mainly in advanced periodontitis, the solution is the surgical phase.

The goals of surgical treatment are:

  • periodontal pocket reduction or elimination
  • configuring favorable anatomical conditions for the application of effective oral hygiene
  • tissue and bone regeneration where it is necessary and achievable
  • correction of esthetic problems of periodontal tissues.

The success of surgical techniques requires experience, technological equipment and exceptional surgical skills.
